Working with our Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services - Buffalo, NY Location

If you are interested in our services, please contact us. Our team of engineers can discuss your situation and work with you to determine the best solution to meet your needs.

Once you have decided to utilize our services, you will work with our engineering assistant or your assigned domestic account specialist in order to get your submission started.

Please read on for more information on how our submission process works.

Is there a form I need to fill out?

Yes, Engineering Services uses a Service/Test Request Form with our main services listed on the form. If you do not see your service listed, please select 'Other' on the form and provide details of your request in the Notes section. The other required fields are highlighted on the form.

It is important to fill out the required fields, as this will assist us in making sure your information is correct in our system. It is also important to note that details regarding your submission, as well as any reports you may receive, are held in strict confidence. We will not release any information to anyone else other than those you list on the form.

Can I have a nondisclosure agreement in place before I submit?

If you require, Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services has a nondisclosure agreement that can be provided to you prior to your submission of any information. Please contact your account specialist for a copy.

You may also be able to use your own agreement. Please submit your agreement to your account specialist who will work with our Legal department to facilitate execution of the agreement.

What if I've never tested with your location before?

Your account specialist will have an account set up in our system. The information is usually taken from the request form that you fill in for your submission. Once that information is entered into the system, our Accounting department performs a credit check to determine whether or not your company account will be granted terms, or if we will require prepayment for any work performed. See Prepayment.

What happens once you receive my samples?

Your samples are received by our Sample Control Department. If you've provided a signed copy of the service request form in your package(s), they will enter your sample information into our system and assign a BV number. If you forget to include the form, delays may occur as your samples cannot be processed until we receive a signed copy of the two page form.

Once successfully processed, the paperwork is then forwarded to your account specialist who will review the documentation to ensure completeness, and who will also work with you if prepayment is required.

If your account requires prepayment, no work can begin until your full payment is received and processed. Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express only), checks, and wire transfers are acceptable forms of payment. Details on how to submit payment will be sent to you once your samples are received and processed.

Please note that payment must clear before we can begin work. Credit card payments can be processed same day in most cases, whereas checks may take up to 10 business days to clear, and wire transfers may take 5 business days to clear.

Can I apply for terms if my account is prepay?

In order to apply for terms, our Accounting department requires a completed credit application, and you must provide company financial information for the last quarter, at a minimum. This financial information can be in the form of sales/income statements or balance/budget sheets.

When can I expect my results?

Each project requires a certain length of time. Current workload, complexity of your project, sample procurement, and project set-up are all factors that are considered when assigning a turnaround time to your project. Quoted turnaround times are always provided as full working business days, and begin once samples and signed service request form have been received, and there is/are acceptable payment or credit terms in place. Bureau Veritas is closed on weekends, as well as major US holidays such as New Year's, Christmas Eve and Day, etc.

Reports and invoices are sent electronically to the email addresses that you provided on your form; no hard copies are sent. Reports are typically sent by the end of our business day local time on the scheduled report due date. Please check with the engineer to confirm the expected report date.
