REACH entered into force in June 2007. This European Regulation sets the measures applicable to the manufacture, importation, sale and use of over 100 000 chemicals. The objective of this regulation is to increase the level of protection of human’s health and environment while improving the competitiveness of the European industry. REACH makes the industry responsible for assessing and managing the risks related to chemicals and providing appropriate safety information to the users. REACH regulation encompasses 4 procedures: - The Registration of all substances manufactured or imported in more than 1 ton/year - The Evaluation of the dossiers and the substances - The Authorisation for substances of very high concern - The Restriction of substances causing a non-acceptable risk
