1st July, 2016 Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services India (Leather & Footwear Division) introduced the new capabilities in the portfolio by launching a laboratory in Noida. The newly launched leather and footwear laboratory in Noida has come up with brand new testing capabilities along with the existing ones.
The recently launched leather and footwear lab was inaugurated on 1st of July 2016 in Noida (B-13/14 sector 6) by the Honorable Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Kumar - CLE director of North in the presence of BVCPS India Director Mr. Nalin Singla heading Global Operations Process & Service Improvement and Business Development. The Chief Guest was then escorted for BVCPS labs tour to another corporate office in Noida where he was introduced with rest of the BVCPS labs across varied divisions like Softlines, Hardlines, Toys and Juvenile products, Electrical and Electronics and RSL labs. Post the inauguration ceremony a healthy dialogue was held at a conference organized for the chief guest and the participating vendors along with BVCPS India team. The session had jubilated and enlightened the entire participating team with industry knowledge and business acumen.
The laboratory has well defined management system for quality, administrative and technical operations. Some of the well equipped and exclusive testing capabilities in the lab include-
· Whole shoe water penetration test - The test that describes the procedure to find out the resistivity of footwear against water penetration under flexing condition.
· Water Absorption (Kubelka method) test – The test method to find out the absorption properties of Leather.
· Abrasion resistance of leather sole - Abrasion resistance test for Leather sole by reciprocation method, exclusively for Egypt market
