French news magazine Le Point, in partnership with global data firm Statista, published its rankings of the most responsible companies in France. Among 2,000 companies assessed, Bureau Veritas garnered 33rd place.
This rating recognizes Bureau Veritas’ commitment to being a sustainable company. Being a Business to Business to Society company comes with a duty: to be exemplary in terms of sustainability internally, and to be a role model for industry in this area. By contributing to Shaping a Better Workplace, a Better Environment and Better Business Practices, BV acts responsibly to Shape a Better World.
The detailed analysis consisted of an independent survey conducted online with a sample of 5,000 representative members of the French populace. In addition, extensive research of publicly available key performance indicators (KPIs) was carried out, based on annual reports, CSR reports, sustainability reports and corporate governance reports. For each company, a score was calculated based on the survey results and the analysis of KPIs. This analysis focused on three aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility:
- The environment (waste, greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption, etc.),
- Social issues (equal pay, number of hours of training, percentage of employees with disabilities, etc.)
- Governance (percentage of women on boards of directors, financial stability, capacity for innovation, presence of a CSR page, etc.).
