The ‘Trusted Mark’ Certification Scheme is designed for retailers and retail-led businesses across a wide spectrum of formats — including hypermarkets, supermarkets, department stores, speciality stores, e‑commerce platforms, service providers, restaurants, jewellers, pharmacies, salons, spas, wellness centres, Family Entertainment Centres (FECs), and cineplexes.

This certification serves two key objectives:

Industry Advancement:
To educate and encourage businesses to enhance their systems, operations, and customer-focused practices in line with the Scheme’s standards.

Consumer Confidence:
To reassure customers that certified retailers follow strict, consumer‑centric requirements, helping them shop, dine, and engage with confidence.

The Trusted Mark Secretariat is spearheading a nationwide initiative to position the Trusted Mark as a recognized seal of consumer trust—driving awareness and building customer assurance across certified outlets.

Audits under the Scheme are conducted by Certification Bodies accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB), a member of the International Accreditation Forum. The Secretariat has established a robust framework for capacity building and widespread Scheme dissemination through trusted partners.


Scope of the Trusted Mark Scheme

The Scheme covers multiple retail segments and sub‑segments, each represented by a distinct Trusted Mark:

Trusted Shop
For retail formats such as hypermarkets, supermarkets, department stores, speciality stores, and convenience stores.

Trusted Spa
For health resorts offering therapeutic services including massages, saunas, baths, manicures, and more.

Trusted Salon
For beauty parlours providing facial, hair, skin, nail care, and grooming services.

Trusted Care
For gyms, fitness centres, and wellness facilities.

Trusted Restaurant
For restaurants, cafés, and dining establishments.

Trusted Cineplex
For multi‑screen and mini‑plex cinema operators.

Trusted Fun Zone
For Family Entertainment Centres, gaming arenas, play zones, water parks, ice parks, and similar venues.

Trusted Pharmacy
For retail outlets selling prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines.

Trusted Jeweller
For jewellery retail businesses.
