Bureau Veritas announces JSW Steel achieves its first ResponsibleSteel™ certifications for four sites
Manufacturing plants at Vijaynagar, Dolvi, Tarapur & Salem receive the global certification.
Bureau Veritas, a global leader in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, congratulates JSW Steel on becoming the third steel company in Asia to achieve the prestigious ResponsibleSteel™ certification. The rigorous certification process was conducted by Bureau Veritas' expert audit team in India and is a testament to JSW Steel's unwavering commitment to sustainability, environmental steward-ship, and social responsibility.
The ResponsibleSteel™ certification covers a range of environmental and social concerns, including responsible sourcing, climate change, human rights, and environmental stewardship. This recognition underscores JSW Steel's dedication to addressing global challenges and fostering a sustainable future.
With this certification, over 80% of JSW Steel's primary steel production is now recognized by the ResponsibleSteel™ standard, the steel industry's first global multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at promoting sustainability. The Tarapur plant has become the first downstream rolling mill in India to receive this certification.
