The VDA 6.3 Process Auditor Qualification programme equips professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to perform process audits using a risk-based approach throughout the product realization process in the automotive industry. Participants learn to evaluate processes, identify risks, drive continual improvement, and conduct audits both internally and across supplier networks.

Prerequisites for Attendance
Target Qualification – Internal Process Auditor
• Knowledge of ISO 19011 auditing guidelines.
• Good understanding of quality tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant customer-specific requirements.
• Knowledge of applicable management system standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.1.
• Product and process-specific knowledge related to the technology being audited.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in a quality-related role.
Target Qualification – Supplier Auditor / Certified Process Auditor
• Strong proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including SPC, MSA (VDA Volume 5), FMEA, APQP (VDA MLA), PPAP (VDA Volume 2), and the 8D problem-solving method.
• Knowledge of software development processes and methodologies, where applicable.
• Auditor competencies, including audit planning and execution, communication, and conflict management.
• Familiarity with relevant customer-specific requirements.
• Knowledge of applicable management system standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.1.
• Product and process-specific knowledge related to the technology being audited.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in quality-related functions.
Training Duration
4 days of training
Examination & Certification
Knowledge Test (ID-381)
Conducted at the end of Day 4 upon completion of the training program.
• Duration: 30 minutes
• Format: Objective-type questions
• Total Questions: 20
• Each question has one correct answer
• Minimum passing score: 12 correct answers (60%)
• Successful completion of the Knowledge Test is mandatory to qualify for the Day 5 Examination (ID-382)
Certification
Upon successful completion of the Day 5 Examination, participants will be awarded the VDA 6.3 Process Auditor e-Certificate, issued by VDA QMC Germany. The certificate will include a validity period of five years and a unique auditor registration number.
